Present Simple: Positive & Negative
Use the present simple to talk about habits, routines, facts, and things that happen regularly. To make a negative sentence, use do not or does not.

❌ She don’t like coffee.
✅ She doesn’t like coffee.
Use do with I, you, we, and they. Use does with he, she, and it.
Present Simple Questions
Use do or does to make present simple questions.

After does, use the base form of the verb: Does she work? Not Does she works?
Adverbs of Frequency
Adverbs of frequency tell us how often something happens. Common examples are always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, and never.

| usually | She usually walks to work. |
| often | We often eat together. |
| sometimes | They sometimes watch movies. |
| never | He never smokes. |
❌ I go always to school.
✅ I always go to school.
Adverbs like always, usually, often and never normally come before the main verb.
Countable & Uncountable Nouns
Countable nouns can be counted: one book, two books. Uncountable nouns are not normally counted individually: water, milk, rice, and information.

If you can naturally say one, two, three before the noun, it is usually countable.
Some & Any
Use some mainly in positive sentences. Use any mainly in negative sentences and questions.
❌ I don’t have some money.
✅ I don’t have any money.

Comparatives
Comparative adjectives are used to compare two people, animals, places, or things. Short adjectives often use -er.

❌ My car is more fast than yours.

Many short adjectives become comparative by adding -er: fast → faster, small → smaller.
Superlatives
Superlative adjectives describe the highest or lowest level among three or more people or things. Short adjectives often use -est.

Superlatives commonly use the: the biggest, the fastest, the oldest.
Past Simple: Regular Verbs
Use the past simple to talk about completed actions in the past. Many regular verbs form the past by adding -ed.

| watch | watched | She watched a movie. |
| clean | cleaned | He cleaned his room. |
Regular verbs often use -ed for the past: work → worked, play → played, watch → watched.
Past Simple: Common Irregular Verbs
Some common verbs do not use -ed in the past. These are called irregular verbs and must be learned individually.

Irregular verbs do not follow one simple pattern. Learn the most common ones little by little.
Can & Can’t
Use can to talk about ability or possibility. Use can’t to say that something is not possible or someone does not have an ability.

| Negative | I can’t swim. |
| Question | Can you swim? |
| Short Answer | Yes, I can. |
❌ She can speaks English.
✅ She can speak English.
After can and can’t, always use the base form of the verb: can go, can speak, can play.
